Outrageous nonsense. Have you ever even seen the English-language version of Al Jazeera? I sincerely doubt it, since you Amurcans aren't even allowed by your radical right government to watch it!! It's not perfect, but I've seen some extraordinarily high quality factual reporting over here in Italy, where altertiave view on he war and the Middle East re actually allowed to be expressed. Anyway, it's one hell of a lot more "fair and balanced" than Fox Snooze. Buona notte.

Outrageous nonsense.

Of course. That's what it was intended to be.

Have you ever even seen the English-language version of Al Jazeera? I sincerely doubt it ...

Well, in my case, you'd be sincerely wrong ...

Funny because it's true, and very, very funny.

It looks a bit strange to people outside of the 2 sets of countries watching fascists (both American and Islamic) at each other's throats when their values are so similar (which is why they make such great fodder for jokes)

DEATH TO AMERICA!

From what I've read in Al Jazeera Magazine and seen on YouTube (e.g. this one featuring Wafa Sultan), I'd think that Al Jazeera English is in many respects quite a bit more balanced than the major American media outlets, which, like much of American culture, seem permeated by an extreme nationalism. This parody clip seems to be fuelled by and the fuel of the kind of prejudices because of which Americans do not have the opportunity to watch Al Jazeera and get the other point of view, prejudices largely based on lies and distortions spread by its competitors. E.g. see this Fox News clip.

A few years ago, Al Jazeera used to be hailed as a beacon of free press, the first of its kind in Arabia; but now most Americans seem to view it as an extremist network. I don't think Al Jazeera has changed; rather, islamophobic and extremely patriotic sentiments post 9/11 are the reason clips like this are popular while Al Jazeera is not.

Just to make things clear, I don't want political correctness, just factual correctness. There are enjoyable clips that make fun of Arab media, like this one, but it's important to note that Al Jazeera does not play in the same league as other Arab news outlets.
