What is Your Power Bird?

Your Power Bird is an Owl

You are beyond wise. You are so smart, you're almost prophetic.
Your inner voice always speaks the truth, and you take the time to listen to it.
You are good at seeing who people are... including the darkness of others.
As a result, you tend to have a rather dark - yet realistic - outlook on life.

When I change one answer, I end up with the Northern cardinal as my power bird, or, if I change a different answer, my power bird is the vulture, but when I change yet one other answer, my power bird becomes the dove. How about you?

First of all, I want you to know that I've devoted my life to this blog post so now you have every reason to love it more than any other blog post. Sniff sniff. Or, could it be that I've been watching too much America's Got Talent (which, clearly, it does not, except that yo-yo guy was pretty good…

So, we may have mentioned we're going to ScienceOnline 2009, which starts on Friday; ScienceWoman and I have our respective sessions on Saturday with our respective co-facilitators. I've been snowed under with the start of classes, some papers due, some abstracts due, a meeting last week, and, of…

Hmmm. My power bird is The Vulture, "You are always changing your life and the lives of those around you. You aren't afraid to move on from what holds you back. Energetic and powerful, you have a nearly unlimited capacity for success. You know how to "go with the flow" and take advantage of what is given to you."

I'm not quite sure what to think of that, but i suspect that others who know me will have lots of opinions!

I'm a Northern Cardinal and I am content to stop right there. They are one of my favorites.

Your Power Bird is a Cardinal

You believe that each day is precious, and you spend your times as best as you can.
You see the wonder in small things, and you are often content with what you have.
You life an interesting, colorful life - and you bring color to those around you.
Confident and expressive, you believe you know how to live a good life. You're living it!

I ended up being a dove:

Deep and emotional, you can connect well with almost any living creature.

And it seems like only yesterday I found out I was demonstrably a nerd (albeit not as bad as some people here).

Weird. A bit of experimentation suggests that the main thing about doves is that they are drawn towards penguins. I guess this is why the penguins are huddled together in Antarctica - it's nothing to do with ecology, they're just hiding.

I came out as a swan; it describes as "You are a truly graceful and gorgeous creature. You easily see beauty in yourself and others. Intuitive and in touch, you can often guess what the future will bring. And you're flexible enough to accept the changes that life has in store for you." Swan is the bird I love, but owl is what I aspire to be friend with, because it never ceases to awe me in different ways every time when I happen to encounter it.
