More About My New Roommate

tags: , , ,

As some of you know, I will soon be adding a four-month-old young parrot to my household. For those of you who have not heard of a hawk-headed (red-fan) parrot, Deroptyus a. accipitrinus, or who are not familiar with them, here is a video of a five-month-old parrot of that species, named Cassius. This is still a very young bird, as is obvious from the video [1:44]

Amazonbirds:

As this clip is posted at YouTube it is in the public domain especially as the above is just a link to a publicly available piece of work not a copy.

Would you object if just the URL link had been posted? It is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bb0FYWr74FQ, which is found in the link above.

my my, such baseless hostility!

i actually do have permission to embed this video in my blog, although permission is not necessary when embedding (linking to) a YouTube video. further, most people who post videos on a public site actually want their videos to be viewed widely, otherwise, they'd make those videos private.

i am not willing to put Cassius's owner's name on my blog since she might not appreciate having it plastered all over the internet.

Oh, wonderful! We want to hear more!

Jack says he can give you some good recipes for parrot pie. I don't think he's quite understood the point.

Bob

i have a video that is scheduled to appear monday morning that is especially for jack.

What a beautiful bird. I enjoyed the fact the bird was on a towel on what appears to be someone's bed. The charge at the camera lens at the end was pretty funny, too.
