Problems with ScienceBlogs

You might have noticed that my entries have grown sparse these days. Part of the problem is me, but part of the problem is that the "scheduled" setting is not working properly, so those entries that I had written for you are not appearing as they are supposed to. For example, this morning's streaming video appeared three and a half hours after it was scheduled to appear (at 9am) and then, it only appeared after I republished my blog, and then rebuilt it afterwards. GRRR! Needless to say, I am frustrated by this, but our behind-the-scenes computer-tamer, Tim, is working on the problem and hopefully it will be corrected soon. Either that, or we'll just have a collective nervous breakdown or temper tantrum, as fits our personal style.

More like this

Quite a few readers have been writing with questions regarding my hospitalization. For awhile, I was writing private email to those who wrote, telling you the highlights (or perhaps I should refer to them as "lowlights"?) of those events that have transpired over the previous 100 days. I will tell…
Okay, so I finally updated our family blog with what has been going on behind the scenes here at Chez Nous, and I will share some of it with you, through the power of copy and paste and with only a modicum of overlap. Voila, I present to you my last two weeks (only some of which is work-related)!…
Another reason it's been quiet around here is that comments haven't been appearing. This was my fault (though I am innocent of any ill intent), and I apologize with all my heart. What happened was this: I was getting quite a bit of the particularly obnoxious kind of spam that copies other comments…
Bora Zivkovic is coming to London on Wednesday April 9th, and several events have been organized for his visit, which I'll be going to. First, there'll be a behind-the-scenes tour of the Natural History Museum, starting at 4.30pm, followed by a few drinks at The Queen's Arms. If you're…

I now have a mental image of Tim in leopard-skin tights with a whip in one hand and a chair in the other, madly trying to control a ferocious server.

Bob

I just tortured Tim myself with some first-day-on-Sb drama. I imagine he's having a difficult morning. He did fix everything on my blog already, though. Now I have to see what else I can break. . . hmmmm. . .

bob, i couldn't resist. i told tim what you said, and now the office staff at Seed are laughing at him (you do realize that tim is a very tall, big guy, don't you?).

bioephemera, nearly all of us have broken our blogs somehow at some point since we've started here, so i am guessing this is the reason why SB isn't adding bunches of us at the same time anymore .. they don't want tim to abandon us!
