I'm definitely getting a "plover" feeling. Based on the date and location, I think it's between black-bellied plover and Pacific golden-plover. I'm going to go with Pacific golden-plover, based mainly on the "dark cap contrasts with supercilium" (Sibley).
Because it's in Texas, I'm going for the American Golden Plover.
Oops. Yeah, that's what I meant: American golden plover.
