Do you wish you could do something fun with your family? This video shows how one family designed and built a potato gatling gun, which was shown at this year's Maker Faire. This looks like so much fun that it almost makes me want to have kids! [4:29]

You don't have to have kids to have fun building toys. :)
This is interesting. Though, I am sort of at a loss at comprehending this, and while I do appreciate the human intellectual energy that went into this project, it really is not my ultimate interest in the realm of 'Solanum Tuberosum.' I sure wish I could find a way to harness that sort of psychic enthusiasm for growing potatoes for food banks...
Thank you for this posting.
you don't want kids. believe me. my live-in girlfriend has a 10 year old daughter. only 7 1/2 years to go!!!
Reminds me of the gatling rubber band gun.
two twelf (twelf rubberbands each) rod electric screwdriver powered counter rotating barrels. 288 rubber bands, at full speed about 8 seconds to dump them and 2 hours to reload.
Oh and due to the counter rotating barrels it is portable (no problems with gyroscopic forces).
Potatoes can be grown in stacks of tires, or in cardboard boxes.
