I was supposed to stay and chat at the Clark Community Network after my posting went up earlier today, but I goofed...so I'm coming back tonight at 7 PM ET for an hour of chatting. Come on over and ask questions...I see that a number have piled up already....

THIS. IS. MINNESOTA. We like our Christmases white around here, and it's not enough just to have a few decorative snowflakes tumble down — we need a blizzard, and that's what we're going to get. I was out there in the frigid whiteness earlier today, clearing the driveway and sidewalks, and now I'm…
As an (unplanned) follow-up to today's morning post about public health use of the internet we have tonight's event in Second Life, a chance to meet and chat with wiki partner DemFromCT: Our next installment of the Virtually Speaking interview series takes place TONIGHT, Thursday, at 6pm Pacific/9…
During my winter blogging break, I thought I'd repost of few of my "greatest hits" from my old blog, just so you all wouldn't miss me so much. This one is from September 24, 2007. This post follows up on my initial 2007 post which I reposted yesterday. It's worth noting that the blog has evolved…

I recognize that many seek to portray proponents of regulating global warming as "alarmist." Let them be reminded that Revelle first proposed global warming to the government in 1965, 41 years ago. Congress first heard about it from Gore in the 1980's, 26 years ago. In 1990, President H. W. Bush signed in "The Global Change Research Act of 1990." It was "aimed at understanding and responding to global change, including the cumulative effects of human activities and natural processes on the environment."

So, maybe in 1965 we could have called Roger Revelle "alarmist." But it seems that in the time our government has known about these threats, many things could have taken place. For example:

I could have had sexual intercourse, given birth to a child, planned his wedding, seen him all the way through graduate studies and helped him cope with his first divorce. All this and a 2 year backpacking hiatus in Europe after he graduated high school.

What im saying is that its a political lifetime. When will we choose to act?
