What do you get when you put Al Sharpton and Pat Robertson together?

A commercial about global climate change;

And there's one with Nancy Pelosi and Newt Gingrich, too;

I haven't had much time to poke around the site as yet, but wecansolveit.org is the homepage of the We campaign, an extension of the Alliance for Climate Protection that Al Gore started in 2006. The campaign is primarily hoping to cause a sea change in public understanding about global climate change to bring the public up to date on issues that scientists have known for years. From a FAQ found on the website;

The We campaign is a nationwide effort to engage and mobilize the American people to come together and call for solutions to climate change. The campaign is an unprecedented commercialâscale, mainstream mobilization effort designed to bring public opinion past the tipping point and convince elected leaders to take bold action.

I have to admit, though, that the pairings of Sharpton & Robertson and Pelosi & Gingrich wouldn't be my first choices, even though juxtaposing liberals and conservatives is a pretty good tactic. At least Gore is trying to get other well-known figures to speak up so it doesn't seem like he's the only person who is concerned about this issue, and I'll be interested to see what the We campaign comes up with over the next few years.

I prefer the term "heretic" but if being labelled a "denier" puts me into a different category than these ideological nutjobs, then go ahead and call me a denier, but in your heart you know that the current concept of 350ppm of CO2 being the secret of global stability has got to be missing the boat when it comes to describing the complexities of a system such as the the one that characterizes the Earth's climate.
One can only imagine they're now working on a series of public service ads to convince us that the vaccines cause autism or aluminum pans cause alzheimers.

While I do admire the overall message of putting aside political differences to deal with serious global issues, I have to wonder just what leader Nancy Pelosi will be writing to. Is she admitting that she and many of her fellow Democrats do nothing but fall over for the Republican agenda?

"One can only imagine they're now working on a series of public service ads to convince us that the vaccines cause autism or aluminum pans cause alzheimers."

Or that smoking causes cancer. There were a lot of deniers on that one for a long time too, and thousands, perhaps millions, of people died needlessly as a result.

Strawman argument. As you can see from the link below, other forcings are a part of climate change assessment.
