Not much news on the book front this morning-- various promotional things are in progress, including an on-campus thing tomorrow afternoon, but there's nothing new to link to.
We do, however, have the first non-mammal added to the DogPhysics Pet Gallery: a lizard, sent in by Marcella McIntyre. It's not actually a pet, per se, but it's shown reading up on the Uncertainty Principle, so at least it has a healthy curiosity.
If you've got a copy of the book, and you have pets, send a picture of your pet(s) with the book to queen_emmy@steelypips.org, and we'll add it to the Gallery. And if there's any news of note, you can be sure we'll mention it here...

... are welcome in the DogPhysics Pet Gallery. Even aquatic ones:
We've currently got seventeen dogs, six cats, two horses, a lizard, and these fish. If you've got a pet, of whatever species, and a copy of How to Teach Physics to Your Dog, take a picture of the one with the other, and send it to…
In talking to a reporter about How to Teach Physics to Your Dog on Wednesday, I learned of a mistake in the text of the book-- a footnote on page 71 says that Scientific American published an article on how to make your own "quantum eraser" in April 2007, when in fact it was May 2007.
If that's the…
How to Teach Physics to Your Dog is officially released tomorrow, because Tuesdays are New Book Days, but Amazon has been shipping them for a few days now, so it's very likely they are already appering "in the wild," as it were. So it seems like a good time to announce a new feature at dogphysics.…
The DogPhysics Pet Gallery is up to seven dogs, but as yet nobody has sent in a picture of a non-dog pet learning physics from How to Teach Physics to Your Dog. Emmy thinks this is because other pets are dumb, but I think she's getting a little conceited. You can prove her wrong by sending in a…
Man...she beat me to it. I was planning on heading to the bookstore next week to pick this up and send you shot with our Leopard Gecko.
Don't let this stop you-- we're very happy to have more lizard pics...
Jamie, your's would be the first pet lizard. My picture is of one of the Green Anoles that get in my house run around a bit, doesn't eat enough bugs, then die.
BTW, I finally got to borrow the book from my dog and am throughly enjoying it. (I'd be reading it now but it's kind of obviously not work related.) The explanation of the Uncertainty Principle is so good I think my mother (studied English and ed. pysch, not much formal work in the math heavy sciences) will understand it.
I still plan to, assuming the local B&N has a copy on the shelf when I'm there next week. I just wanted to be the first to submit something that weird.
