Alice is heading offline

I've just come back from yet another workshop (this time on engineering and identity - v. cool) and tomorrow we head out on vacation. We're camping across the country, then spending some time with my folks in Canada, then camping back. I suspect the intertubes will be thin on the ground but will post snippets when I can.

I'm also at the cusp of making a big decision, and the time away from online I think will be really helpful for me. So I leave you in the hands of the always insightful Science Woman for the next few weeks - I hope the end of summer is both restful and productive for you. See you in mid-August...

In Boy Scouts, a person must agree to sign a 'Declaration of Religious Belief,' in which he must agree that "only a person who acknowledges his duty to God can be the best kind of citizen".
Camp Quest is a secular summer camp program, and the Minnesota Version of it has been growing in recent years, and needs volunteers to help. 2010 camping dates are June 25 to July 31, not too far from the Twin Cities.
Students are starting to get the flu around here - and that means that it is time to debate. Clearly there are going to be some absences in the coming month. The question is: what to do about it? There are two camps of thought here:
