Monday Madness: WE WON!

"Victory is sweetest when you've known defeat." -Malcolm Forbes

It is official; you voted and the world has listened. I am proud to welcome you to the best physics blog in the world!

We not only won physics.org's best blog, we were also the people's choice award winner!

Thanks to the judges, thanks to all of you who voted, and a special thanks to all of you who just read and enjoy what I'm putting out, regardless of whether you comment on every single post or not on a single one at all.

The Universe wouldn't be the same without each one of us, and I owe a huge thanks to each one of you. Not only have you come this far on our journey through the Universe, discovering what we know and how we know it, but I'm honored to be on this journey with you, as I often stumble to find the best explanation of just how this whole thing works.

So thanks to all of you; I'll proudly display the awards in my sidebar for all eternity* so people know just what we've been accomplishing here, and we'll keep on talking about the whole thing, from Inflation to Dark Energy, from gluons to galaxies, and everything in between. Thanks for making this place as great as it is, and I'll keep working to make it even better!

* -- For appropriately small approximations of eternity.

Im not saying this just because youre my blagbrother, its really true-- you are totally my favorite physics blag. You get me excited about astronomy in a way I havent been since I was a little kid.

Congrats!!

**HIGH-FIVE!!**

well-earned.

More like best physics blog in the universe. Congrats!

To the blog that taught me that the universe's expansion rate is approximately 1 / 13.7 billion years -- congratulations!

Sincere Congrats:
Please explain one thing to me. If inflation burst out mass at a speed exceeding the speed of light, wouldn't that have happened in a negative time frame? Second, the escape velocity from a black hole also exceeds the speed of light. If there is a Hawking radiation escaping a black hole, how does the concept of time hold up? Are these things something we are not able to watch empirically but can develop a set of equations to demonstrate?

Kudos Ethan!

Now thats...*wait for it*

patration!

Much deserved!
And thanks for all those posts that keep me coming back for more.
So thanks.
Now I want more!
;))

Congratulations on winning! Yours is the only non-geophysics blog I read any more. I looooove your explanations, so clear, so complete.

Well deserved. Hopefully even more people will come to your blog.

Well done, Ethan! Know it's one of my favorite blogs on any subject.

Congrats indeed!! & well-deserved. When I saw who the finalists were I was afraid you wouldn't win -- nice to see these awards actually conclude as they ought sometimes.
