carnivals
The new ecology carnival now has detailed submission instructions. You have about three weeks to dig out your best ecology post from the past or write new one and send (up to two posts) to the first host, The Infinite Sphere.
Tangled Bank #69: War on Christmas is up on Salto Sobrius.
The 98th Carnival of Education is up on The Median Sib.
The One Week Short of a Year Carnival of Homeschooling is up on Principled Discovery.
A Tangled Bank is a good spot from which to launch an ambush—so Salto Sobrius is on the attack!
P.S. Scienceblogs had a server upgrade last night that went awry. If you were unable to make comments for a while, sorry about that—I think it is all better now.
The History Carnival's Annual Happy Holidays Party (as Reported by an Ignorant, Belligerent Lush) is up on Acephalous.
Carnival of the Green #58 is up on Cocolico. It is a strangely formatted blog with no real Permalink and the post is spread over seven pages (you need to keep clicking on the '+' sign). It also looks unusually small (missing my own submission, but perhaps also some others as well).
Update: I have discovered the permalink now.
Grand Rounds Volume 3, Number 12.(Christmas Grand Rounds, Charlie Brown!) are up on Nurse Ratched's Place.
The first edition of Oekologie will be on January 15th on Infinite Sphere. Send your best serious ecological science posts the day before to be included in the new carnival.
Last week, RPM of evolgen asked his readers to find blogs that cover ecological science (and not just nature and conservation) and they came up with quite a few good ones. Spread the word - let's make Oekologie a success and an incentive for ecologists to write more about the nitty-gritty science. Nice nature pictures and stories are great for Friday Ark, I And The Bird or Circus of the Spineless, and environmental…
Ah, everyone is too busy getting ready for the holidays to remember to send their entries to the Tar Heel Tavern, so, this week, it is pretty small, but I am glad to see that I am not the only one writing about driving and traffic.
BTW, do not forget the Chapel Hill/Carrboro Blogger MeetUp tonight at 7pm at the library.
After a brief delay due to power outage, Friday Ark #117 is now up on The Modulator.
Instead of watching the vote swinging back and forth, why not read these fine carnivals? Or perhaps emit random comments?
I and the Bird #38
Carnival of Education #97
Friday Ark #117
The next Tangled Bank will be at Salto Sobrius on Wednesday, 20 December—send your links to Martin Rundkvist, host@tangledbank.net, or me by Tuesday.
Someone is voting like mad, and it ain't one of my partisans. The naked dude is passing me by and increasing his lead.
Vote for Pharyngula (and remember, you can vote every day!). Unless you really want to read my bitter, whiny concession speech.
>P.S. Another neck-and-neck race is shaping up in the Best Educational Blog category—quick, get over there and vote for Bérubé, or there will be more show trials!
Oekologie is a new blog carnival focused on ecology and environmental science. While Carnival of the Green is focused more towards conservation issues and sustainability, this carnival is going to focus on the science behind it. It will appear monthly on the 15th of each month, starting in January. You can start sending submissions or signing up to host.
The Carnival Of Education: Week 97 is up on Education Wonks.
Carnival of Homeschooling - Week 50 is up on Apollo's Academy.
Look through your blog's archives since November 16th. Have you written something about microorganisms? Viruses, Bacteria, Archaea, Protista? Basic biology, medical aspects or ecology of microorganisms? If not, can you write one today or tomorrow? Or perhaps you vividly remember a post written by someone else? Perhaps you know of a new blog that covers microbial topics?
In any case, send the permalinks to those posts to the next host of the Animalcules carnival - Tara of Aetiology.
Grand Rounds, Vol. 3 No. 12 are now up on Anxiety, Addiction and Depression Treatments blog.
Carnival of the Green # 57 is up on Organic Authority.
The Synapse #13 is up on Neurocontrarian. Go take a look.
This will be the last edition of The Synapse. The two neuro-carnivals are going to fuse into one, so in the future, only submit your entries to Encephalon.
