If you've been following the comment threads lately, you already know that we've had a new arrival who has been inspiring much hilarity, Pastor Tom Estes. He seems to be much dismayed at us atheists, and is promising to meet us at the Creation "Museum" on Friday, to discuss matters. He also has a…
Like a lot of people in SF/ Fantasy circles, I stayed up late reading last night. Unlike most of those people, though, what I was reading was not A Dance with Dragons from George R. R. Martin, but Vortex by Robert Charles Wilson, the sequel to Spin and Axis, concluding a series that he said in 2007…
Does anyone watch TV anymore? Anyone? I mean, seriously, its like every other day Creationists are doing something infinitely more hysterical than anything Hollywood can think up. Todays side-splitting sitcom is brought to you by William Dembski and a new character*-- a buxom young brunette named…

There is something really odd about the fact that you post this. You are violently not a Christian. And while it is one of these things that you might say are worth reading, why do you care enough that you know so much of it to put it on your website. It feels a lot like you are trying to appear superior over those who do believe.

96 %. Not bad for an atheist.

69%, I must be good at guessing.

100% here.

I did have a problem with one of the questions, though.

40. How many days and nights was the great flood?

  • 7
  • 12
  • 40
  • 77

According to Genesis 7:17, the flood lasted 40 days.

And the flood was forty days upon the earth.

However, Genesis 7:24 and 8:3 both say the water did not recede for 150 days.

If only I were a Biblical literalist, I'm sure I would have a response to this apparent discrepancy. Alas, when I tried to look it up I found several different interpretations.

hmm . . . I got 92% despite having guessed at many of the answers. I don't think this is on the up-and-up. Are the obvious questions being scored more highly than the obscure ones? I mean, anyone who knows the Bible knows Jonah was swallowed by the whale, but who but a biblical scholar remembers the order of the books in the OT? (and the Ridger, Elf Eye, and Jeremy of course.)

"...who but a biblical scholar remembers the order of the books in the OT?"

Are you talking about this question?

22. Which book follows Ezra?

  • Exodus
  • Hebrews
  • Jude
  • Nehemiah

I figured out that one by process of elimination. Exodus is part of the Pentateuch (first 5 books of OT). Jude and Hebrews are in the NT.

Nehemiah was the only choice left.

100%, but I'm not proud of it. It was a dumb quiz.
