It seems like a logical evolution. The key word here is "trust"! The big boys can have a lot of motives to slant the news to fit the company line!

what would be interesting to see though is how many of those blog newsstories that topped the NYT were quoting a NYT story as their source. while blogs push news, media companies with their journalists still most of the time break news.
so even if in the long term blogs win, they actually might lose, because they just don't have the resources to do the digging.
