Hiya!

As of today, Seed's new science blogs are open for business. (Be sure to check out the list of other bloggers there--it packs quite a punch). To my regular readers, thanks for following me over here, and expect to see pretty much the same things I've written about in the past. Y'know, constant Brangelina pregnancy news, Britney worshipping, and lots of discussion of the latest fashion trends.

Yeah. Or, not. (Don't fear--I search of my previous site brings up zero mentions of either Britney Spears, Angelina, or Brad). What you will find is a lot of science, covering mainly medical/health-type issues, as well as a good deal of general biology posts. You'll find my series on pandemic influenza (you can also find the links for this on the left at the bottom of the blogroll). A few other representative posts (kind of a "best of" from the past 5 months):

Evolution vs. ID

Evolution--research

Microbiology

Public health and policy

Epidemiology

Misc. science

Just a sampling of the topics I generally write about. Some of those more directly related to evolution were also cross-posted to Panda's Thumb, a practice that will also be continued.

Anyhoo, I wanted to say "thanks" to Seed for the invitation to blog here, hi to the rest of the inaugural group, send a shout out to my regular readers and commenters, and introduce myself to any new folks. I don't have any steaks to offer, so I'll have to appease you with a virtual feast of science writing instead. Welcome!

Fancy new place you have here :)

Yeah, not too shabby, eh? Need a bit of color on the walls, but other than that...

Updated my RSS reader from your old site. Good luck with the new host.

What if Britney Spears, Angelina, or Brad get some kind of weird parasite or something? (Beyond whatever is currently afflicting them.) Will you report on them then?

Oh, man...okay, maybe. Actually, I do have to give Brad and Angelina props for the work they've done regarding global health, so I guess technically, they could be discussed. But no posts about their divorces/marriages/affairs/babies/hair color/etc. Howzat?
