It seems I'm not the only one who's spent the last year worrying about whether I needed to update my CV. My SciBling Janet Stemwedel got tenure! In philosophy no less. (You can have a career doing that?)

Something quite unexpected happened to me: I managed to pay off a student loan nearly a year before I go up for tenure! Who'd have thunk it?
Here's the letter they sent me, with a bit of reading between the lines:
Dear Janet,
On behalf of [the school where I got the student loan], I wish to thank…
