Debate

I had to miss several of the past televised Dems presidential debates, though I read the post-mortems on them on blogs afterwards just to learn that the MSM is still not serious about doing their job. Thus, today's radio debate on NPR was quite refreshing - they had more-or-less equal time for each of them, and sufficient time for them to develop their ideas beyond the sound-bites. The questions, while not as good as they should have been, were miles ahead of the stuff CNN, for instance, decided to ask.

So, the Big Day has finally arrived - the inauguration of the new SEED scienceblogs homepage and the addition of 24 new bloggers to the stable, including me - yeay!
Before heading off to the Charleston Conference last week, I blogged about the big announcement of Pierre Lassonde's big $25 million donation to York to found the Lassonde School of Engineering.

We've just received news that last night the Senate unanimously confirmed our friend and colleague, Dr. David Michaels as an Assistant Secretary of Labor -- specifically, Director of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). He starts sometime next week.
