This is a three minute video depicting a week long process -- a fermenting beer. The finished product is Judy Garland Stout -- Like Judy, it grew up in the public eye and then turned bitter... I am curious how the photographer got the camera into the fermenter -- any ideas? [3:00]

Also this weekend we also made beer. So it's time for another alcoholic photo-essay, this time on beer homebrewing and a brief history of beer in America.
It all starts with a beautiful mixture of malted barley. Here's about 20 lbs of barley, in Rick's recipe there is a mixture of light and dark…

I posted this last year, but I think it is worth repeating .. this streaming video lacks music, but it shows you the adventures of a special peep, an astropeep (or a peeponaut, depending upon which name you prefer) who traveled to the edge…

It looks like the fermenter here is a standard bucket. If I were to put a camera in I'd use a cheap webcam taped to the top of the bucket, possibly covered in plastic to protect the lens and then run the cord out the top through a drilled hole. The other option would be to just mount the camera on top of the bucket and cover the whole bucket and camera loosely with a towel. For primary fermentation the yeast is so dominant in the culture that you can take fairly little car with closing it off and still get good beer.
I'm more curious about the photographer in the fermenter--is this a modern day version of Duke of Clarence, who drowned in a butt of Malmsey wine (at least in Shakespeare's play Richard III)?
