This is an Ovenbird. Has a white eye-ring; on top of the head it has two dark stripes with orangish color inbetween; chest is striped. I thought for the longest time that an ovenbird was a thrush, but it is actually a warbler. There is an infamous small grove of cedars at Point Reyes Nat'l Seashore in Marin County, California, that is named for this bird, which was seen skulking on the ground there during fall migration some years ago.

Very handsome ovenbird (for all the reasons cited by idbirds) in a very out-of-the-ordinary habitat! Years ago I got my lifer Worm-eating Warbler at the Sonora Desert Museum outside of Tucson; those green oases in the middle of the desert can attract some nice vagrants.

Ovenbird. I've never seen one, and still remember how surprised I was as a kid when the speaker at an Audubon event showed a slide of one and told us it was a warbler.
