I just got my author's advance copy of the paperback The Republican War on Science. Man, this is so exciting. It looks great, and I think the new preface, updates, and revisions make for great additions--the preface especially really lays out the big picture in a much better way than I think the book did in its original hardcover version. I think it's essential to the full package.
Anyway, once again, you can preorder the paperback here. It should be officially "out" within a few weeks. I'll have a lot more to say about it as the date nears....

Just a quick note on the current state of the anthology:
It's the end of a year that saw historic election in the United States. An African American was elected President. To many of us felt like a turning point. We'll have to see. But if it is, it is due to many people, some of whom we know, most of whom we will never know.
I was just traveling around the blogosphere and landed on this most helpful post; thanks to Bill Hooker, of Open Reading Frame, who launched my odyssey.
Over at GNXP Classic David B has an introductory preface to a series of posts he plans to write on the great evolutionary geneticist
As a fellow author ( http://www.fredbortz.com/booksby.htm ), I can testify that the feeling of holding a copy of a new book never gets stale.
Congrats, Chris!
BTW, I know the title sells books, but I wish it was somehow more obvious that this is as much a call to Republicans to reclaim their party from science abusers as it is for Democrats to take a pro-science agenda.
I haven't sold any of my regular book review editors on reviewing the reissue, but I'll keep trying. Meanwhile, I think my old review still has relevance.

For those of us who forked out the money for the hardcover edition, will there be online access to the new preface somewhere?
BTW, I loved the book.
That is a fair point, Mike, let me think about it. I don't think I can put it online though...
