East Meets West In NYC

Yet again, stranded in a Jetblue terminal... needless to say this trip has not made me a fan of that particular airline--despite the complimentary Terra Blue potato chips. Since I'm biding time at JFK, here are two photos from our NYC meetup courtesy of Jennifer.

At least this one wasn't a JetBlue screwup. I flew another airline and sat on the tarmac for three hours along with about 20 other planes due to weather. Flights to Boston were canceled completely and everything was still three to four hours late on the arrival board when I got back around 5:30.

Great to see you! Safe travels.

Neat pictures! It's nice to catch up with friends, even when the airlines do not cooperate...

The problem isn't airline specific, it's that the NE corridor airspace is full to capacity, along with the flightlines at most of the busy airports. It only takes a small cockup here or a little thunderstorm there to upset the balance of the whole thing.

Blame deregulation and the proliferation of those small regional jets that airlines love.

Jonathan is right. It was not airline specific. The big thunderstorm led to delays and cancellations. Then, the airlines at, for instance, JFK, did not have the airplanes and crew they needed for flights (as they could not arrive the previous day), so they had to cancel and delay more flights, etc. A mess.

But anyway, nice pictures ;-)
