So, the Archbishop of the Russian Orthodox Church wants "the monopoly of Darwinism and the deceptive idea that science in general contradicts religion" to end, just as his friends in the US.

I am sad to say the following comes from a school that I attended. This was from an alumni newsletter regarding the activities of one of the physics faculty. "Since the time of Archimedes, sciences advanced along two avenues, through new experiments and through theory...."

Ah, you smart! I wondered a bit about the timing, and then got distr.... look! shiny!

I was just at a blogger meetup where one person suggested the same thing - I was feeling like an idiot for not thinking of it myself first!

I can't believe I hadn't noticed until now!

C'mon guys: Occam's razor: the Biden leak had already occurred and it was getting more and more press. If they hadn't sent it out then it would have been all over anyways.

Moreover, I don't see at all how sending it out at the same time as mentioned in Clinton's commercial particularly helps him.

Yes, I thought the timing was beautiful. I'd seen someone suggest it on DKos the day before and I was glad the Obama campaign had the cajones to do it that way.

It's a shame, though, that Biden's name already had been leaked to CNN a few hours before. Would have been really nice if all those people sleeping with their cell phones actually had been the first to get the word.

Anyway, I'm happy with the team and what it could mean for progressive, responsible science policy in the White House.
