Playwright Tom Stoppard retells Shakespeare's Hamlet as an absurd comedy from the perspective of two minor characters. The brilliant Gary Oldman and Tim Roth star in Stoppard's own film adaptation (1990). Here's an excerpt:

one of my fav movies, no doubt. feathers and balls drop the same, d'nt'u'know'it. tom stoppard is a weird dude, most of his plays are uninterpretable.

I saw two productions of the play long long ago. Over the top, fantastic. Stoppard's movie version seemed a bit of a let-down in comparison.
