The table is set:

The turkey is in the oven, the house is clean, and two car loads of relatives are on their way. Our first time hosting Thanksgiving dinner is on track.

Wish us luck, and take a moment to be thankful for the Pauli Exclusion Principle, Democratic control of Congress, and friends and family with whom you can share holidays.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

Kate and I will be hosting Thanksgiving again this year, but not until Saturday, for reasons having to do with pet-sitting-- the Queen of Niskayuna will not tolerate inferior dogs (i.e., any dog who isn't her) in her house, and for some reason, it's hard to find a pet-sitter for Thanksgiving Day.…
This has been an exhausting and exasperating fall, but my classes are done, and my grades are in. And, more importantly, The Pip is out and about, SteelyKid is super excited to be a big sister, and everybody in Chateau Steelypips is healthy and happy. (Well, OK, Emmy's a little disgruntled that I…
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. I'm off to my parents' house for the day. I hope everyone has a great day with their families. In Michigan, we have a tradition. We eat far too much, then fight over who gets the couch, then we all watch the Lions play, which makes us want to regurgitate the meal we…
We're at my parents' house in Scenic Whitney Point, NY, for Thanksgiving, so of course there's only one appropriate subject for the photo of the day: Thanksgiving dinner. That's our traditional turkey dinner, from my seat at the table. We ate very, very well, as always, and the kids have been…

Well you guys are definitely organised. The table setting is very stylish and I like the chairs but your dinning room is in dire need of colour!

Everything is very beautiful individually but my god all together the feel is something like a fridge. I don't know if it's the picture but the white on white on white with black accents is looking mighty cold.

My advice (that's right I'm not going to start holding back here) is that you seriously need to get some colour you like SOMEWHERE in your house. Either in the walls or the floors or the soft furnishings. Yeah, and the washed out colours in the drapes don't cut it, so don't try and tell me you've got colour there.

The picture is nice and warm...what about using some colour from that?
