Today was a pretty rotten day in a lot of little ways that aren't worth going into. A smiling, happy baby does a lot to make up for that, though:
This week's picture was actually taken last night by Kate. The height differential between us accounts for the fact that neither SteelyKid nor Appa are fully in the frame. Still, it's a good illustration of just how darn cute SteelyKid is when she's happy.

Those of you who follow me on Twitter/ Facebook have been getting the occasional snippet of cute dialogue from SteelyKid over there. This one's a little too long for breaking into 140-character blocks, so while I wait for her to come downstairs so we can make pancakes, a cute SteelyKid story:
SteelyKid is really overtaking Appa now in the size department! So adorable. Out of curiosity, what's the simplest function that models her growth (height, say, though mass would be interesting too) vs time? Is it mostly linear for now or is there obvious concavity?
