Half a Year!

SteelyKid is six months old today! To celebrate, here's some video of her bouncing around in her jumper:

(That's spliced together from a bunch of shorter clips. You can here me babbling inanely in the background, because my brain turns to cheese whenever I'm within about five feet of her. I was tempted to mute all the audio and replace it with some song or another, but decided it would be too cheesey. Also, I like the happy baby squawk at the end.)

As you can see, there's no new post for today. I think you'll forgive me if you know the reason. Basically, back in March, there were a number of storms, and we lost power for several days, followed by its going on and off a couple of times before finally being restored for good. Both SteelyKid's kindergarten and the snow-day day-care program that the kids go to were closed today, which kind of threw a wrench in things. But it's also kind of fun, as I got to spend some time playing outside with SteelyKid on her play set in the snow. The "featured image" above is a cell-…
SteelyKid is spending a couple of days this week at "Nerf Camp" at the school where she does taekwondo. This basically consists of a bunch of hyped-up kids in a big room doing martial activities-- taekwondo class, board breaking, and "Nerf war" where they build an obstacle course and then shoot…

My husband always call babies "brain vampires." When you're in the room with a baby, you're getting dumber, and they're getting smarter, so obviously they must be sucking your brains out.

She sure looks cute and happy. Congrats all around.

What does Emmy think about brains made of cheese?

Too goddamn cute.
