Wheeee!

I'm working on a badly-neglected project this morning, so here are a couple of pictures of SteelyKid from yesterday's trip to the park. (You can see more in my Flickr sets, linked at left.) This one gets you the basic idea of what it's like taking a very active toddler to the playground:

Finish one thing, and run determinedly toward the next thing...

(This also shows off her awesome "S is for Space Ship" shirt, which is a little big on her, but then, it's a 24-month size, a full nine months ahead of her nominal size. It's also from the boys' department, because girl-toddler clothes all suck.)

The "next thing" being run toward included a couple of trips down the slide:

I know she looks more determined than happy in this picture, but I swear, she was enjoying herself very much.

And there's your cute-baby-picture bribe for the day. Which lets me get back to trying to get some work done while Kate and SteelyKid are off at Babysaurus buying supplies...

More like this

[Scene: Dinner at Chateau SteelyPips. DADDY is starting to say something about his day at work, when STEELYKID interrupts.] STEELYKID: If you eat too many hot dogs, you'll turn into a hot dog!
Long-time readers will remember that I used to do weekly kid-blogging, posting pictures of SteelyKid with a reference animal, Appa the sky-bison from the Avatar cartoon.
In the car, on the way from day care to campus to watch a softball game DADDY: So, what did you do at school today? STEELYKID: Daddy, I'm a superhero. They call me Strong Ninja Girl. Strong World-Saving Ninja Girl. DADDY: Because you save the world?
SteelyKid was born five years ago today. I'd try to be clever and schedule this for exactly five years to the minute of her time of birth, but I've mercifully forgotten exactly when the delivery was, only that it was early in the morning after a very, very long night.

She is so cute. My son has the same look when he is running between his "projects."

I wish I could get all those cute clothes for my son too.

I wish I could have found cute clothes like that for my boys too. I had/have to shop in the girls section to find primary colors that don't have things like "little slugger" written on them.

I love the determination of toddlers. She's great. And as a former children's clothing manufacturer I can tell you there is no standard for sizing.

I love each and every picture of SteelyKid! Thank you so much for sharing with us.
