Our next-door neighbors are awesomely nice, and helped Kate move all the breakable stuff in the back yard out of harm's way before the big storm this past weekend (since I left town before it was clear that Albany would get hit). as a thank-you, Kate and SteelyKid baked cookies for them. But you don't have to just watch-- you can help, too:

A couple more pictures showing the mixing process are below the fold. Kate measured everything out, and controlled the mixer, but SteelyKid was in charge of carefully adding ingredients a little bit at a time:
As you can see, this is serious business, requiring intense concentration. And she was very good-- the vast majority of the flour actually made it into the mixer....

Must have missed the announcement, but it's clear you're working on a Mark II version. You did so well with the first cut, I'm happy you're doing it again.
Great first kids help to guarantee younger siblings.
She was very good at putting the flour mix into the mixer, because she didn't have to deal with full measuring cups. "Helping" me take the measuring cups out of the canisters to be leveled off, there's where we got flour and sugar all over.

While I am entirely in favor of raising feminist children, I think this particular offer was more "helping bake is fun!" than "cooking is non-gender-specific work."
And yes, of course Chad helped, but only briefly because it is really not a three-person job and in accordance with our usual post-dinner division of labor.
