Keyboard screwed up! Bakspace, Delete, 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th key on high row do not work (q, e, t, u, and a). Does anyone know what could be wrong? (using onscreen keyboard to type this)
Update: I bought a new one and it works fine....

I got a request to collect participants for an online survey on science fiction — take a look and help out if you want. It's long, and a little depressing: it's a list of science fiction movies and TV shows, and you're supposed to rate their scientific accuracy. I think I'm rather picky about that…

As you may already be aware I am about to embark on a trip to Europe again. I will be traveling on Sunday and arriving at Lindau, Germany on Monday for the 59th Meeting of Nobel Laureates. The list of Nobel Laureates (23 of them) and the list of about 600 young researchers from 66 countries are…

Dude, you've *got* to keep your Coke's away from the keyboard!
Sounds like you have a spill in the keys... keyboards are cheap, but if you pry up the keys themselves and clean with alcohol & cotton swabs, you can probably fix it (if it is a spill). Unplug the keyboard 1st of course :)
This is a test comment.
I second that there was probably a spill or some other debris worked it's way down in there. Disassemble the kb and clean it out.
Also, most keyboards can be run through the dishwasher (on low heat) with no ill effects, as long as you leave ample time for it to dry out *completely*.
OK, OK, I gave up and went to the nearest store and got myself a cheap-o keypad and a mouse. It works. Feels good, too.
And from now on, kids are forbidden from bringing the food and drinks even close to the computer....
So that that won't happen again you can order a custom, transparent, flexible, plasteen(or some such word) keyboard cover. Use google to find one or go to your local computer store and buy a mail-in form for one.
