That is what the SEED overlords are asking this week:
What movie do you think does something admirable (though not necessarily accurate) regarding science? Bonus points for answering whether the chosen movie is any good generally.
Jeff Goldblum comes to mind....
But no, the most admirable thing a movie can do about science is make it look cool to kids. Many kids' movies (and TV shows) are doing a pretty good job at turning science-geeks into superheroes. My all-time-favourite is Jimmy Neutron.
Why? Jimmy is not just an inventor and engineer (like Dexter, for instance) but a real scientist - have you seen his laboratory and his long-term ongoing experiments on carnivorous plants and hamsters?
Also, he is not manic and a "mad scientist" in training, but just a regular boy. And his parents are cool. His mother is gorgeous. His friends are loyal and coll kids as well.
And his big enemy (in the movie, not in the TV series) is the unforgettable Poultra (of which there is no image online - I've been looking for ages in order to blow it up and make a poster for my future laboratory door)!

My old childhood faves weren't cool cartoons with kids as scientists, like Jimmy Neutron-- I watched Mr. Wizard, and later, "Honey I Shrank the Kids". And my dad bought me a microscope (that I loved). I'm glad stuff like this is coming out!
