WALL-E

I finally found some time to go and see a movie theater from the inside. My daughter and I went and saw Wall-E tonight.

Like everyone says, it is a beautiful movie.

Get some popcorn and sit back.

Take in the fantastic graphic design.

Play the "spot the cultural reference" game.

Enjoy the sweet love story.

Laugh.

Leave the social analysis for later, if you insist on doing one at all.

Last Saturday, we went to see WALL-E with our 4 year old niece. It's the story of an ordinary cleaning robot (WALL-E stands for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) that, well, keeps cleaning a city on earth long after humans have left earth. Humans left earth because they had turned it into a…
To put it mildly, this summer's crop of films has been a disappointment. Out of the handful of films I've seen I leave most going "Eh, it was alright," picking over the story I just saw to find something that made the $10 ticket price worthwhile. Not so with Wall-E. Even though there is almost…

On Saturday, we went to Soaring Eagle casino to play poker and I had what is simply the most bizarre and amazing session of poker in my life. You're not gonna believe some of this. Soaring Eagle…

It really is a terrific film. The inventiveness, artistry, and empathetic understanding that went into it is really remarkable.

And be sure to stay through the credits.

I agree - enjoy the quick laugh at the surface social commentary, but hold off on going deep on it 'til you can get the dvd and be able to pause and think on it without annoying the other 30-130 people in the theater with you. :)

and if you ain't seen it yet, stick around through the credits (why am i the only one that ever does?). there's a good laugh even after the final Disney Pictures logo.
