The Empress of Eastern New York is dissatisfied:
Why? Because at this point, my DonorsChoose Challenge entry has only raised $475 from 7 donors. A bunch of theorists are cleaning our clocks.
This makes SteelyKid grumpy. And we don't want a grumpy baby.
To put things into perspective, this blog gets about 2,000 hits per day, so the challenge goal of $6,000 amounts to just $3 per daily hit. So, if something you read here gave you at least $3 worth of amusement, please click and contribute. If you do, we'll have a happy SteelyKid:
And isn't that better?
For a larger donation, you can claim one of the bigger incentives on offer, or just enter to win a cross-stitch from Kate (one virtual ticket for every $5 donated).

As you have no doubt noticed, the annual DonorsChoose fundraiser is under way, raising money to help school teachers and children. You can < ahref="http://www.donorschoose.org/donors/viewChallenge.html?id=19006">donate directly through my challenge, but you can also help them out by voting…
At the time of this writing (about 8:20 on Monday), my DonorsChoose challenge entry stands at $2,802, nearly double last year's take. That's outstanding, and I thank everyone who contributed.

Greta and I love what we do here at Cognitive Daily, and we'd love to see more people getting excited about careers in cognitive psychology. But before you can become a scientist (or a science writer), you need a good background in the basics. Unfortunately, for too many children, that education is…
I wasn't aware of the non-SteelyKid-related incentives! I'm a sucker for cute baby pictures, so that was sufficient.
But, since I *have* made a qualifying donation; do I need to do anything to claim my incentive?
President Johnson's "Great Society" mandated charity by law. Its receipt was declared a fundamental human right. That era has all but imploded. March or die.
I'm always a sucker for the commanding stare of tots. We surely don't want a grumpy baby.
No other incentives needed for me, just the view of that commanding stare converted to a gleeful smile.
But, since I *have* made a qualifying donation; do I need to do anything to claim my incentive?
Just forward me the confirmation email from DonorsChoose, and let me know what you want.
