A shot from this morning, before SteelyKid had gotten dressed:

Why is she balanced precariously on the arm of that chair, you ask? So she could do this, of course:

This was the exciting game of the morning: climbing up on the arm of the recliner, then doing a dramatic drop back to the seat. Over, and over, and over, with much giggling.

Hey, you might've done the same, if given an armchair of the appropriate scale. SteelyKid sure made it look like fun...

Because I know there are still a few people who come here for the cute-kid pictures, I give you the official SteelyKid portrait for the 2013-14 academic year. This is actually a photo of a photo, because that's the easiest way to convert the print they sent us to a digital format, and also because…
Jennifer over at Cocktail Party Physics has a nice post about her trip to Disneyland. The one ride that would be fun to play with (in terms of physics) would be the tower of terror. Think of the cool things you could do with a video camera during that ride. It would be like a mini-vomit-comet.…

With time the scar faded and now you have to know where to look and catch it in the right light to see it.

I once broke a coffee table playing keep-off-the-ground: it could bear my weight standing, but not jumping off the top of the door. On a related note, don't teach preschoolers to jam up door-frames unless you're willing to deal with falls from height. Also, don't get caught by your tutor at university jamming up a nice tall corridor outside her office because you were bored. You have so much to look forward to!
