Adventures in Science and Ethics suggested a getting to know you meme that looks fun, so here goes.
3 reasons you blog about science
1. To break up the lab day but still look busy
2. To better inform myself about interesting developments in science, and then relay that
3. To interact with other scientists who I may never meet in real life, and share ideas
Point at which you would stop blogging:
If i won the lottery and moved to a paradise isle with no internet access.
1 thing you frequently blog besides science:
Energy issues
4 words that describe your blogging style:
Accessible, Informal, Excited, Funny (maybe?)
1 aspect of blogging you find difficult:
The strange backlash against blogs that I sometimes come across. People associate them too much with self-indulgent rants about cats and ex-boyfriends.
5 ScienceBlogs blogs that are new to you:
All of them except Terra Sigilatta and Phrayngula
9 blogs you read outside the ScienceBlogs universe
Hmmm: DailyKos, Jon's Travel Adventures, Shiny Shiny...........I need to read more.........
6 items you would bring to a meet-up with the other ScienceBloggers
Star Trek Box set, case of Red Stripe, Jack Daniels fifth, current edition of Nature, lab notebook, camera
5 conversations you would have before the end of that meet-up:
Favorite Star Trek episodes
Bird stories galore
Bunsen burner/PCR machine/autoclave mishaps
How everyone got out of grad school alive
Awful mentor stories

star trek and jack daniels ? that's an interesting combination :) not
I agree with the backlash, but that is because most blogs are really true to the original web-log name. A lot of people feel that this type of diary blogs expose to much online (all the myspace talk).
Yes, ST and JD. A strange mix, yes, but not an unwelcome one i'd hope. :)
