This is a photo I took a little less than a year ago of Tai Shan, a giant panda cub (Ailuropoda melanoleuca) at the National Zoo in Washington, D.C. You can see the pandas at the National Zoo via a webcam on the official website.

My family and I were at the zoo a few weeks before he was to be "released" to the public. : (
Yah, I was there about 1 month before he was born, last summer. But seeing the big pandas was pretty sweet too!
It was cool to see all the Chinese-Americans and/or Chinese nationals who were there. They were totally proud and stoked about the pandas.
Well they should be! The have the world's sole supply of the cutest animal. :)
