I'm on vacation, so I haven't been watching the internets for cute things as closely as normal. But this guy stuck out, and I'm sure you'll see why: c/o Zooborns OMG THE WITTLE BABY SEA LION IS TOO CUTE!
This toddler t-shirt from Twisted Twee comes in sizes up to 4 years, and is inspired by "just a few of the items my young daughter Betty consumed in her first year." The buttons I understand, but the toy soldier? And what is the toy soldier doing to that cow? Remember, parents: B is for baby,…
Video is taking over science communication. And why not? Now that paper is outdated, the limitations of that ancient technology should not apply to scientific publishing any more. Just because paper cannot support movies does not mean that modern scientific papers should shy away from using them…

I own four of these birds. I have often wondered just how much entertainment (and trouble) a wild flock would be in a big city. Don't worry - I live too far north to try.

DV, you do not own these sentient beings, they own you and you are obligated, and never forget it. Sounds like you have a tiny flock, which may or may not keep them sane. Their mega-years heritage of novelty aversiveness is probably why they have not gone feral--they die from the stress. Mine are seen to in my will. Yours?

I agree, this was just idle speculation. And yes, that they have each other for company is a plus - they are a flocking bird after all.

My son will take the birds after we are gone, they are in love with him anyway. And if some disaster befalls us they will go to good homes via the parrot club we belong to.
